Inside Information Platforms
According to Article 4(1) of REMIT, market participants shall publicly disclose inside information which they possess with regard to the businesses or facilities that they or their parent undertaking or a related undertaking own or control, or whose operational matters they or their undertaking are responsible for, either fully or in partially.
Market participants shall disclose the inside information through Inside Information Platforms (IIPs). The IIPs shall ensure that the inside information is made public in a manner which enables prompt access to that information, including through a website or a clear application programming interface, and a complete, correct and timely assessment of that information by the public.
In 2020, the Agency commenced the process of registering Inside Information Platforms (IIPs) based on their compliance with the minimum quality requirements for effective disclosure of inside information, as defined in Section 4.2.2 of the ACER Guidance. The table below provides information on the applications received by the Agency and the status of their evaluation.
The ultimate goal is to provide a list of IIPs that comply with the requirements and can therefore be used for the effective disclosure of inside information.
In order to be listed as an IIP, applicants are invited to consult the information on how to complete the application form and submit their request via the online IIP Application Form after ensuring that the platform adheres to the following:
•The platform is effectively open for third parties.
•The platform is in line with the requirements for the application of the obligation to disclose inside information, as described in Section 4.2.2 of the ACER Guidance.
•The platform’s web feed meets the criteria set out in the REMIT Guidance on the implementation of web feeds for Inside Information Platforms and the Manual of Procedures on data reporting.
