List of accepted Energy Identification Codes (EICs) is a centralised directory maintained by ACER to standardise the identification of market participants, trading points, and assets under REMIT. These unique codes—ensure consistent and accurate reporting of wholesale energy transactions across Europe. Market participants must use valid EICs when registering with their National Regulatory Authority (NRA) or submitting transaction reports to ACER.
Please note that transaction reports containing inactive or not accepted EICs violate ACER’s data collection system (ARIS) validation rules and are flagged accordingly.

Please note that only EIC codes of types W, Y, and Z are eligible for inclusion in the List of Accepted EICs. The list is reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis. Requests for new EICs should be submitted no later than two weeks before the end of each quarter; requests received after this deadline will be considered for the next quarterly update. With a view to ensure a swift reporting, the Agency urges all relevant parties to promptly submit new / updated information regarding EICs via the EICs Reporting Form.
